AIM Pathways to Structured Literacy is designed to help teachers translate theoretical models of literacy into the evidence-based classroom instructional practices that support the development of students’ decoding, spelling, and word recognition skills.

Prior to enrolling in this course, participants are required to have successfully completed the Pathways to Proficient Reading course. Building on the knowledge developed in that prerequisite course, this online Orton-Gillingham based coursework continues to strengthen educators’ knowledge and understanding of the science of reading aligned to the International Dyslexia Association’s Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading.

In addition to the asynchronous online coursework, you will participate in a series of four 1-hour synchronous, virtual community-of-practice meetings moderated by an AIM Pathways Facilitator. These meetings focus on supporting community members as they work to implement new practices in the classroom with fidelity.
