Pathways to Proficient Reading is designed as a blended learning professional development opportunity introducing the Science of Reading to educators, special educators and reading specialists looking to incorporate evidence-based practices for language and literacy instruction.

• Asynchronous Orientation and Pre- and Post-Course Knowledge Inventory Assessment
• 17 Sections
• 6 live Virtual Community of Practice Sessions (VCoPs)
• Pacing Guide offers dates for live sessions along with a recommended schedule for completing coursework.
• 12 Month Access to the AIM Pathways platform to access, review, and apply materials in the classroom when needed
• The weighted average of all section scores and post-knowledge inventory score must be at least 80% to pass this course. Read all scoring details in the syllabus.
• Not intended for participants who have already completed Pathways to Proficient Reading: Secondary.
  

Credit

• 55 hours available for CEUs
• A certificate of completion is available to show as proof for ALTA and other state credit. We also offer Pennsylvania Act 48 and New York CTLE credit for completion of the entire course and are not score dependent.
• Pathways to Proficient Reading is IDA-Accredited with coursework aligned to the Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading. Course completion prepares participants to take the Knowledge and Practice Examination for Effective Reading Instruction (KPEERI) through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction and receive Structured Literacy Classroom Teacher certification when they pass the exam. • Arcadia University offers three graduate credits within one year of course completion for an additional cost with the successful completion of the Pathways to Proficient Reading Course with a required minimum score of 83%.
